Calabasas, CA, September 28, 2020: Astronomers Without Borders (AWB) is excited to announce the release of our new One People, One Sky video highlighting our non-profit’s messaging of how the starry skies has the power to unite people.

Our video has been highlighted at a special online event celebrating the United Nation’s 75th anniversary. The focus of the program was to discuss astronomy in socioeconomic development of regions around the world, and how it can serve as an inspiration for leading children into STEM fields for their future careers.

Thank you to all of the children who contributed their voices, with special participation from astronomy outreach organization Travelling Telescope in Kenya, and the British International School of Chicago, South Loop in the USA. Although we were not able to utilize all the voices that were sent due to the length of the video, they will potentially be used in upcoming promotion of Astronomers Without Borders.

On September 29, 2020, AWB will host a Facebook Live at 12pm EDT (11am CDT) that will debut the One People, One Sky video. This live stream kicks off a two month-long social media campaign ‘Under the Same Stars’ the focus of which is on how astronomy has the ability to unite the people of Earth, and fight mental distress, especially in these very challenging times.
