InOMN Logo in Spanish

On Saturday, September 18th, 2010, the Nicaraguan Amateur Astronomers Society (ANASA) took position on Galerias Santo Domingo, a public and crowded mall in the outskirts of Managua, Nicaragua.

The event was publicized on ANASA's Facebook page, Twitter, ClickManagua and Galerías Santo Domingo.

Carrying AWB's small buttons over our chest next to ANASA's logo, with 4 telescopes in the ranges of 3, 4.5, 6 and 12 inches and a compilation of multimedia material related to the Moon exploration by LRO, Kaguya and Apollo; ANASA spent more than 3 hours attending more than 400 visitors at the location.

The clouds menaced the observation event, but with patience and good fortune, we were able to gaze at the Moon around 75% of the time.

We had plans to make a live broadcast and all arrangements were made to do so, but at the last minute, the person in charge to provide the 4G Internet connection FAILED to present himself at the site. I apologize for that set back, cause we know there was a big expectation for that broadcast.

We received 15 new applicants to join ANASA, among them 2 almost forgotten amateurs that had equipments from long ago but haven´t had the chance to find a group to join.

Here is the link to a Picasa Album, with pictures of that night, taken by Adelmo Sandino.
