For the observational astronomy side, AWB National Coordinator for the Philippines discussed about light pollution and the value of dark sites for astronomical observations. The different aspects of light pollution (glare, sky glow, light trespass, clutter) were elaborated, and effects on ecology, energy waste, and human health were also identified.... Read More...
ORGIN OF MILKY WAY GALAXY In the universe light and darkness is present. Light is passed through a prism it splits into seven colors . In the midpoint of milky way a shell called hydrogen ion shell is present. Shell is like a ball. At present there is nothing inside the shell. Before the galaxy is beginning liquid hydrogen liquid is present inside the shell. Shell open at a point. Squeeze hydrogen liquid into red hydrogen ions gases. Like prism experiment several elements are formed by nuclear fusion of hydrogen ions. Several elements having the colors are formed.... Read More...
NEOA-JBS observed, registered and published data for the total lunar eclipse in 21 January 2019. The minimum global magnitude of the eclipsed moon was estimated to -1.5. This is a little fainter than predictions made by Helio Vital, who pointed a minimum magnitude around -2.7. This suggests that eclipse was darker than predited. Observers did Danjon estimates and the mean value was between L=1.5 and L=2.5 during totality. Marcelo Zurita (BRAMON) shared its meteoroid flash registered at 04:41:38 UT. A total of 19 observers shared their data and results were published in NEOA's Newsteller called Observe! February 2019. This newsletter... Read More...

As part of our endeavor to spreading around the knowledge of astronomy among the publics in this region; AOYA offered free astronomy classes to the kids of International Maarif Schools in Erbil; Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Today the first batch of kids was introduced to the basics astronomy; the kids have learned how to find their way in the night sky and they custom made their own star wheels! The initial class was very successful and informative; therefore AOYA will continue its relentless efforts with the other batches this program in the coming few weeks. AOYA will also call... Gunstar team opens the door of its headquarters in Goiania for an evening of astronomy and friendship with more than 7 telescopes for the great public to observe the Eclipse of the Moon. Approximately 45 people passed through the headquarters from the beginning to the end of the event, because it is on an exotic schedule and close to a Monday the public was reduced by the obligations that most people have by Monday morning. Despite this we considered the event a success, fear of the weather closing, the schedule and the Monday could not undermine the event. the Record... Read More...

Hello. I'm a recently retired physics & astronomy teacher. In August, I contacted my colleague Armando Caussade, president-emeritus of the Puerto Rico Astronomy Society (PRAS). We've both been to the South Pole to work on the IceCube Neutrino Observatory, but I hadn't heard from him in some time. "How's things there after Hurricane María?" I asked. "Not so great, but better," was the reply. After a number of conversations, Armando & I decided that perhaps the time was right to start a nonprofit, Astronomy Education with Puerto Rico (AEwPR) that could work in the mainland United States to raise significant... Read More...
