Text and photo by Andrei Dorian Gheorghe, design by Florin Alexandru Stancu

“Imagining Black Holes through Art” is a GAM program that can attract not only artists, but also any kind of sky lovers.

Trying to express our consideration for it, I thought of a metaphor for which I put together (in a special way) two old works made before the 2000s by two symbols in Romanian contemporary astronomy: a photo-house (with the Sun and the Moon Sickle) by a symbol of amateur astronomy, Valentin Grigore (founder-president of the Romanian Society for Meteors and Astronomy-SARM and AWB national coordinator for Romania), and a sky map (with the logo of SARM) by a symbol of professional astronomy, Dr. Ovidiu Vaduvescu (who worked at astronomical observatories in Romania, Canada, Mexico, Chile, West Europe, South Africa and Hawaii; since 2006 he works at Isaac Newton Group of Telescopes in La Palma, Canary Islands; he is also the founder-coordinator of the EUROpean Near Earth Asteroids Research project - EURONEAR).

Then I photographed them, I wrote a haiku and my fellow Florin made the design.
