Haldia Institute of Management Astronomy Club inaugurates its First Observatory

Haldia Institute of Management Astronomy Club also known as Aryabhatta Asatronomy Club launches its first observatory centre with its Reflector Telescope with 130mm aperture and 650mm Focal Length with magnification of 33x and 65x. It is the first management institute in Haldia to launch an observatory for the astronomy enthusiast. The telescope was inaugurated by Dr. Lakshman Chandra Seth, Chairman Indian Centre for Advancement of Research & Education (ICARE). All Public Events of Aryabhatta Astronomy Club postponed till April 15 , 2020 due to COVID-19

All public gathering and social events of Aryabhatta Astronomy Club has been postponed till 15th April 2020. The Director of the club Dr.S.N.Bandyopahdyay stated " All our events are being converted to E-events as of now to prevent the spread of COVID-19 virus. We are in constant contact with our Club Members and encouraging them to participate in our E-events like webinars, etc. We are using different apps like Zoom, Google Classroom, etc. Our main aim is to contain the spread of this virus and want to help in our small ways. Aryabhatta Astronomy Club,Haldia India Inspiring rural students to participate in Nasa Scientist For A Day Essay Contest

Aryabhatta Astronomy Club a Unit of Haldia Institute of Management is going to promote NASA Scientist For A Day Essay Contest in schools located in Rural Bengal. The main objective of this activity is to promote the events in which students from class 5 to class 12 have the opportunity to participate. Due to a lack of information, many enthusiastic students of the Rural Bengal do not get the opportunity to participate in such events.
