National Star Party Weekend in the Netherlands

March 11 and 12 is the National Star Party Weekend in the Netherlands. In over 60 places throughout the country the public can enjoy the night sky through a variety of telescopes. In Arnhem, capital of the province of Gelderland, you are very welcome at Sterrenwacht Presik heaven. Join our star parties to see the REAL Stars. Plus the Moon, and the planet Jupiter, and much, much more. In case it's cloudy we have presentations and movies about astronomy inside. Nacht van de Nacht / Night of the Night

On Saturday October 29, 2011 we celebrate reverting to Winter Time by organising the " Nacht van de Nacht ." The nationwide website can be found at: http://nachtvandenacht.nl In Arnhem we join forces with local environmental groups and organise a big event in Sonsbeek Park , close to the central train station. There will be all kinds of night related activities, among them a bunch of telescopes from the volunteers of Sterrenwacht Presik heaven . Total lunar eclipse on June 15, 2011

Moon-party in Arnhem, the Netherlands On the 15th of June 2011 we observed a total lunar eclipse from the Arnhrem city park "Hoogte 80". Volunteers of Sterrenwacht Presik heaven put up six telescopes and gave explanations to the audience and interviews to several journalists. More than sixty people turned up to see a beautiful dark red Moon rise over the skyline of Arnhem.
