The Lake Afton Public Observatory is hosting a star party; starting off by observing the closest star to planet Earth, our Sun. There will be telescopes with solar filters to observe the Sun safely.There will be outreach activities and presentations available for all guests. As the sun sets telescopes will be available to view many celestial objects. The planets that will be available this night are Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. The Moon will be available too, it will be a waxing gibbious moon, 9 days into its phase.Food will be catered to the area, so join in the fun, food, and festivities.
