On April 28, the Potentially Hazardous Asteroid (52768) 1998 OR2 will have a close, but safe, encounter with us, coming at about 6.3 millions of km from the Earth. The Virtual Telescope Project will show it to you live, online here.

Join Gianluca Masi, PhD of the Virtual Telescope project as he will offer a live feed covering this cosmic event, bringing the beauty of the sky to you at home.

The potentially hazardous asteroid (52768) 1998 OR2 has an estimated diameter in the range 1.8 – 4.1 km: this will make it quite bright around the time of the fly-by, so it will be visible through small instruments. The Virtual Telescope Project will show it live, thanks to its advanced technologies, bringing it to you via the Internet. You can join the journey from the comfort of your home. Our online observing session will cover the final moments of its safe, close approach.
