Mês Mundial da Astronomia – “Titã, uma Lua parecida com a Terra” - Lyrids Watch no OAPB

No dia 21 de Abril, o Observatório Astronómico de Gaia (OAPB) voltou a promover mais uma rubrica do Mês Mundial da Astronomia 2012, desta vez foi dedicado à maior Lua de Saturno,Titã, a única com uma espessa atmosfera no nosso sistema solar, cuja composição se assemelha à atmosfera primordial quando a vida despontava na Terra. O dia era propicio também à observação de estrelas cadentes da chuva de meteoros, as Liridas, mas não foi visualizada nenhuma, talvez devido à poluição luminosa e devido à neblina e algumas nuvens que incomodavam a observação. No final foi possível a observação de Saturno e Titã através de telescópios.

On 21st April, the Astronomical Observatory Gaia (OAPB) came back to promote another event from Global Astronomy Month 2012, this time dedicated to the largest moon from Saturn, Titan, the only one with a thick atmosphere in our solar system, which composition were like the primordial atmosphere when the life was rising on Earth. This day was also dedicated to the meteors watching, the Lyrids, but none was detected, maybe due light pollution and some clouds on sky prevented the observation. At the end was possible the Saturn observation and Titan through the telescope.
