Pusat Studi Astronomi (PASTRON) or Center for Astronomical Studies Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) held the Observation of Total Lunar Eclipse on April 4th 2015. The program was held at Kampus 4 Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, Yogyakarta, Indonesia in collaboration with Kelompok Studi ANDROMEDA, Himpunan Mahasiswa Pendidikan Fisika (Physics Education Students Organization), Himpunan Mahasiswa Magister Pendidikan Fisika (Postgraduate Physics Education Students Organization), Laboratorium Teknologi Pembelajaran Sains (Science Learning Technology Laboratory). Besides the Observation, PASTRON also had the talk show about the Lunar Eclipse. The speaker of the talk show was Yudhiakto Pramudya. After the talk show, the students and lecturers had the Maghrib prayer and Eclipse Prayer.

The Talk Show

The weather was not clear enough to observe the night sky. However, we can still have chance to observe the partial eclipse phase and total eclipse phase. We used 4 telescopes, on of them is Galilean Telescope that was built on International Year of Light 2009. We also stream the observation from the William Optics telescope and CCD through the Google Hangout. However, there was some errors on the telescope alignment. But, we managed to create the Documentary video of the event.

The Observation

The participants were no only students and lecturers from the UAD but also from other University. We also got special guest from the delegations of University of Nueva Caceres, Phillipnes. They were excited to observe the Eclipse and Jupiter and Orion Nebula. The master students of Physics Education took the data to observe the night sky quality during the Eclipse.
