Stick with it, and look for Saturn coming up in the East. It's not quite Jupiter in my opinion, but the rings are amazing!

I too recently had my first viewing of Jupiter from near the top of MT. Hood Or. Very exciting stuff. My friend took me up there with his telescope and I'm hooked. My new VX11 will be here Fri and Sat were goin again!
