Report

Hi All,

Wondering if anyone else saw a bright star-like light coming from very close to or from the Lagoon Nebula.

I observed this light at about 9:50pm CDT.  Once I saw it it stayed bright about 1 minute and then dimmed over a period of about 20 seconds.

The light was not moving relative to Saturn which is just north of Sagittarius so I am quite sure it was not a satillite.

It was about as bright as Saturn and was redish, similar to Scorpius a* Antares.

Very interesting, hope someone else saw it and can confirm my observation.

Pete

After seeing no other reports and thinking about it more my best guess would be that it was an airplane coming into MSP directly at me and then turning toward MSP.
It looked great though while I was watching!
