It seems rather strange:
Any piece of astro-information
Makes me feel tender anxiety
And enthusiastic vibration.
-Andrei Dorian Gheorghe-

Sorin Hotea is a teacher of mathematics in Sighetul Marmatiei (North Romania, Maramures province, former Romanian voivodeship and committee under Magyar and Austrian domination), a builder of telescopes and a council member of the Romanian Society for Meteors and Astronomy (SARM), who created Astroinfo (of Romania) in 2002, a web initiative which now uses especially the Facebook platform and is open not only for astronomical news, but also for astrophotography from all over the world.

He also leads the local SARM astroclub that organizes astro-parties for the public at large.

Although an adept of technical astronomy, Sorin Hotea and the astrophotographer Alex Conu (now a member of The World At Night) wrote and presented a remarkable astropoetry mini-comedy at SARM’s Perseid Event 2005 (in the Covasna County), where they also launched the first largely detailed and printed astronomical calendar in Romania.

During Global Astronomy Month, in spite of the pandemic restrictions, Sorin Hotea could take a few interesting pictures, from which my time tunnel chose three (Venus among the Pleiades, a solar halo and even a Starlink satellite).

“Sorin Hotea is nobody
in the greatness of the Cosmos.
I am crazy about stars
and measure my life in eclipses.”
-Sorin Hotea-
