THE ROCKET BUILDING
Astro-photo-poem (cosmopoem) by Andrei Dorian Gheorghe
On June 24, 2020,
I passed besides the Palace of the Cultural League,
which was made in Bucharest in the 1920s
by architect Ioan Trajanescu and a technical team,
looks like a rocket
and houses today the Bulandra Theatre.
(Perhaps the architect wanted to remember that
the first three-stage rocket was invented
by the Transylvanian-Saxon-Austrian military engineer
Conrad Haas
in the 16th century
at Sibiu-Hermannstadt,
in the territory of current Romania.)
On those moments,
an idea came to my mind:
I knew that NASA’s astronauts
walked on the Moon
between 1969 and 1972,
but perhaps the architect of the rocket-building
wanted to reach the Sun.
