THE ZODIAC FOUNTAIN

In the 1930s
Octav Doicescu and Milita Petrascu
made the Zodiac Fountain
in a quiet Bucharestian square,
which I revisited on July 1, 2020.

It is known that every year
the new cycle of nature
in the northern hemisphere
begins with the spring equinox,
so I photographed the first signs of the concept
(zodiacal houses in astrology -
adaptations after the astronomical constellations):
Ram, Bull, Twin Brothers. Crab
(this time I would not comment
the astronomical changes in the real zodiac
because of the motion of precession)…

In doing this,
I remarked that
the spectacular and beneficial water
eroded the paintings,
so they must be remade
from time to time.
