AQUILA OF ROMANIA
Astro-photo-poem (cosmopoem) by Andrei Dorian Gheorghe
Through its grandiose flight in the sky,
the eagle inspired the world
and became a major symbol for empires and nations,
culminating with the Roman Aquila.
Continuers of Eastern Latinity
and followers of the Geto-Dacians,
the Romanians put this symbol on their coat of arms
and on the top of the Deputies’ Palace
(made in 1907 - architect Dimitrie Maimarolu -
near the Patriarchy Church;
the result: one of the most beautiful
resorts of this kind in Europe).
But Aquila is also a constellation,
so that on July 10. 2020, I went further,
trying to catch the astral recognition:
the star Altair, or Alpha Aquilae…
above Bucharest.
