IN THE CAROL I PARK
(Bucharest, July 21 and 28, 2020)
Astro-photo-poem (cosmopoem) by Andrei Dorian Gheorghe
The Carol I Park (inaugurated in 1906)
includes an impressive monument
dedicated to the heroes of the nation
and suggesting the structure of a church tower,
which was conceived in the 1920s
and realized in the 1950s.
That place also offers
a spectacular perspective of the city.
I imagined its elements as planetary orbits
and I tried to catch inside them
the photographically accessible bodies
of the solar system:
the Sun, the Moon and Jupiter.
Then, outside the solar system,
I caught a symbol of the flight:
the star Altair or Alpha Aquilae.
