A MORNING LIKE NO OTHER
Astro-photo-poem (cosmopoem) by Andrei Dorian Gheorghe
I suffered a lot
because I could not go outside Bucharest
to see Comet NEOWISE
because of the pandemic,
but I was glad for those who could do it.
However, on July 11, 2020,
I made a desperate attempt
to see that comet from a high block.
I started with Capella above the city,
but when I looked further,
that proud star almost disappeared,
while Venus appeared so dominant
that she covered
her stellar neighbor Aldebaran.
Then I watched the zone of the comet,
but… nothing!
However, although disappointed,,
I used my camera
in the same direction…
and the unexpected result:
a ghostly silhouette!
At dawn,
Venus still continued to shine.
Finally, atmospheric birds
announced the sunrise
and consoled me that
comets are also a category of birds
that fly through the void.
