NEAR THE COLTEA HOSPITAL
Astro-photo-poem (cosmopoem) by Andrei Dorian Gheorghe
On February 8, 2020,
before the pandemic,
I saw the Moon above Coltea,
the first Bucharestian hospital,
which was founded (together with a church)
by an aristocrat, Mihai Cantacuzino, in 1704,
as a gesture of gratitude to divinity
because it had saved his life
after a forbidden love story.
On September 11, 2020,
during the pandemic,
I went back there
for a photo-series
symbolically dedicated to
the main defenders of human health
at all times - the doctors.
Under a stylized “star”,
the circle sculpted on the hospital tower
seemed to be waiting
to be filled with
a spherical drug as miraculous
as the Moon or the Sun.
