Founded by visual artist Daniela de Paulis (IT/NL) and astronomer Thilina Heenatigala (Sri Lanka), AstroArts is the international, online cultural platform of Astronomers Without Borders (AWB). The AWB AstroArt program aims at bridging gaps between the arts, science, astronomy and culture in general. In this program, we’ll be presenting inspiring and thought-provoking works on the arts and science, probing and questioning their interaction and limits.

Our AstroArt program was inaugurated as a part of GAM2012, featuring artists from a variety of backgrounds presenting work that included poetry, music, and movies as well as artwork. Due to its success in GAM, it was decided to expand it as a regular, ongoing program of AWB.

Every month, the AstroArt program will feature an "AstroArtist of the Month" - an artist, scientist, or other creative mind showcasing his or her work through photos, videos, interviews, live streaming and more. Each presentation will be unique and tailored to the artist or scientist's work. AstroArt is an international program without geographical or age limit.

The project is coordinated by Daniela de Paulis (Italy/Netherlands) along with Richard Clar (France/USA), Kathleen Horner (USA), Bob Eklund (USA) and Thilina Heenatigala (Sri Lanka). More about the AstroArt Project team here.
