For Earth Day 2017 we at Slooh.com are collecting videos from people all over the planet sharing what they would miss about Earth were they to go into space. Untitled

We’ll be putting together a collage of the best videos and streaming them during our free live show at 9am ET on April 22nd and throughout the day on social media. Joining us on the show will be NASA astronauts Stanley Love and Tracy Caldwell Dyson revealing what they missed about Earth when they were in space, as well as other Earth-loving experts discussing the uniqueness of this pale blue dot we all inhabit.

We’d love for you to send in a video of yourself or with friends and family sharing your message. These clips will then be used in our collage of videos that will play on Slooh’s Facebook page, Slooh’s affiliates and Slooh.com during Earth Day. The deadline for receiving the video is end April 15th.

If you, your friends or family would like to take part, here’s what we invite you to do:

Using a smart phone turned horizontally, film yourself or your friends saying what you would miss. Here’s a quick link to show you how. https://youtu.be/9iTT4Ijb1tk

You could also just say: “Happy Earth Day!

Your video should be no more than 15 seconds. Then simply email the video to [email protected] with your name and city in the subject line, and join us on Earth Day for our free public online show to see if your message made the cut. If speaking in a language other than English, please include a translation within your email.

Tips on how to make sure your video gets played on Earth Day are provided on our Facebook Event page.

Have more than 10 words to say about your love for your planet? Great! We invite you to write about it! Check out Slooh.com’s all new community perspective board with the launch of our new website mid-April, and upload your words before April 21st. Maybe it’s a poem, or a piece of art about Earth, or a fact that you love about the planet. Maybe you want to share how you will be celebrating Earth Day, or what it means to you to be an Earthling. We welcome all your views!

Slooh.com is an astronomy online community network that encourages people all over the world to go outside and look up. We don’t need to be astronomers to feel the wonder of being under one sky which is why our slogan is Space for Everyone. We provide use of our giant telescopes online to members around the world so that anyone with an internet connection can experience the feeling of seeing the rings of Saturn, the moons of Jupiter, or perhaps a passing comet. In addition, we host regular shows featuring leading experts that offer advice on how to view celestial objects, how they were made, as well as sharing how our sky has inspired humanity through the ages in expression of arts, culture and spirituality.

We thank you for being part of our message for Earth Day 2017, and look forward to sharing with you our deep love for our home — planet Earth —and its place in the vastness of space.
