Closest Planet Mars Observation and Astronomical Facts from Caguas, Puerto Rico

I did an astronomical activity for all my followers at social media for July 30 and 31 of 2018. The planet Mars is in its approach to our planet and it is time to talk a little about this astronomical event that fascinates us all. The opposition of Planet Mars - Caguas, Puerto Rico

I include the results of the astrophotography that we made live from the observation of the opposition of Mars on July 27, 2018 at 8:30 pm from Caguas, Puerto Rico. The astrophotographers are Fernando Roquel Torres and Erica Correa Felix. In this photo you can show how the dust of the sahara can affect the captures, also the red planet was covered by a storm of dust which can be perceived in the photograph. Scientific Project to Search for Extrasolar Planets at the Arecibo Observatory

Our team of Astrofotografia y Ciencia (Solar System Ambassador - NASA / JPL Fernando Roquel Torres and Professor Erica Correa Felix) was invited by Prof. Abel Méndez, who is a planetary scientist and astrobiologist at the University of Puerto Rico in Arecibo studying the Potential for the life of the planets, to a Scientific Project to Search for Extrasolar Planets at the Arecibo Observatory on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm. Educational Visit to the Arecibo Observatory - May 5, 2017

On May 5, 2017, first and second grade students from Cipriano Manrique Elementary School in Caguas, Puerto Rico were able to enjoy an educational visit to the Arecibo Observatory accompanied by our resource and Solar System Ambassador - NASA / JPL Fernando Roquel Torres. Our Solar System Ambassador was as a guide illustrating everything concerning the meteorites of the place. GAM 2017 - Astronomical Educational Talk "Astronomia y Astrofotografia para Aficionados" in Caribbean University Bayamon Campus, Puerto Rico

On April 29, 2017, from 10am, an educational talk entitled "Astronomy and Astrophotography for Amateurs" was given to teachers, students and guests at the Caribbean University Bayamón, Puerto Rico. This is due to the celebration of the Global Astronomy Month (GAM 2017). A great space adventure in the Science Park (Parque de las Ciencias) in Bayamón, Puerto Rico

The adventure begins on the morning of November 17, 2016. Our destination is the Science Park (Parque de las Ciencias) in the town of Bayamón, Puerto Rico as part of a school tour. Hoy no voy hacer astrofotografía como de costumbre.... hoy solo voy a observar planetas con el telescopio cual aprendí a amar todas las maravillas de nuestro sistema solar. Planetary Astrophotography - Planet Mars 6/25/2016

Hot night of June 25, 2016, I proposed to capture the planet Mars from my home in Caguas , Puerto Rico. I built my astronomical equipment (Meade LX90, Orion Mount Sirius EQ-G, barlow and camera Luminos Celestron NexImage 5) all controlled by stellarium scope and Celestron ASCOM drivers installed on a laptop Alienware 17. At 8:30 pm, I started capture the planet Mars at 25 fps a video of 3.30 minutes at 1024 x 768 resolution. Planet Saturn in rustic night

In clear night and warm temperature, i proposed to catch planet saturn in my town of Caguas, Puerto Rico in 6/17/2016. The beautiful landscape of astronomical planet is was present (Mars, Moon, Saturn and the star Antares). Before I proceed with the astronomical activity, I lit the tiki torch in my backyard and I took a cold drink to continue my astronomical adventure. Solar Astronomical Observation of Sunspots 2553 & 2554

I share my astronomical observation solar activity of sunspots from 2553 and 2554 in Caguas, Puerto Rico in 6/13/2006 - 2:30pm. The atmospheric conditions were Variable clouds. The Sunspot 2553 is larger than our planet Earth. You can see the penumbra Cleary and the umbra. Sunspot in 2554, is a group of spots, although not as large as 2553. The equipment used for this sun activity was the astronomical telescope Celestron 114mm and LCM Astromaster mount, the camera Celestron solar NexImage 5 and Seymour Solar Filter.
