The Day the Earth Smiled
Photographs of Earth taken from space are among the most iconic images in the history of space exploration. Think of the famed “ Earthrise ” photo from Apollo 8 or the “ Pale Blue Dot ” shot of our home taken from beyond the orbit of Neptune by Voyager 1 in 1990. Give the Universe to a Blind Kid
Friends and members of Astronomers Without Borders can help share the wonders of the universe with visually impaired children around the world by contributing funds to the “A Touch of the Universe” project. AWB President to give talk at Tahoe Star
Visitors to Lake Tahoe have an opportunity to see different sorts of stars thanks to Tahoe Star Tours. AWB Joins CosmoQuest Hangout-A-Thon
AWB Founder and President, Mike Simmons will be featured on CosmoQuest's Hangout-A-Thon, a telethon using Google Hangout on Air to raise money to support public engagement in science. The event will be held for 32 hours on 15 to 16 June. Astronomers Without Borders is pleased to announce the recent addition of Tim DeBenedictis to its Board of Directors. Tim’s passion for astronomy has been evident since he began writing astronomy software during his high school days, followed by his 1993 graduation from MIT with a degree in Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Science. Although Tim started his career focused on engineering and technology during the “dot com era,” he turned his eyes back to the stars as product architect for Carina Software from 2004 through 2010, where he oversaw the development of the Voyager Astronomy software. Download GAM 2013 Cosmic Concert
GAM 2013 held the fourth edition of Cosmic Concert on 28 April. Italian pianist and composer, Giovanni Renzo, gave a live performance which was streamed online. Messier Marathon in Bombay, India
