The South Carolina State Museum will be partnering with local community organizations to increase awareness and appreciation for both our world and our universe through a variety of fun science activities and demonstrations.

  • Hands-on science and astronomy related demonstrations and activities, such as rocket launching and more.

  • See the NEW full-dome planetarium experienceBlack Holes.

  • Get a sneak-peek of the upcoming Lyrid meteor shower with a special Live Sky Tour in the planetarium.

  • Visit the State Museum’s Boeing Observatory for up-close look at the Sun. Please note: Solar observing is dependant on clear skies.

  • Explore The Robert B. Ariail Collection of Historical Astronomy. This world-class collection includes American made telescopes and astronomical equipment dating back to 1730.

Plus, guests will be able to enter a drawing to win a telescope from Explore Scientific!
