OPTICKS / ECHOES FROM THE MOON

Join us April 15 at 10 am EDT/ 1400 UT for the unique live audio-visual performance, OPTICKS, between the Earth and the Moon courtesy of audio visual artists and radio telescope operators. Everyone is invited to this special Facebook Live cosmic mail art happening during which images submitted by people around the globe will be transmitted to the Moon and back as radio signals in real time.
This year not only are we bouncing images to the moon and back, but we're sending your voices too in Echoes from the Moon! Daniela de Paulis and Carole IONE will host a special homage to American composer Pauline Oliveros (1932-2016) and her seminal piece 'Echoes from the Moon' by inviting our worldwide community following the live event to join our panel and send their voices to the Moon and back. In conjunction with visual artist Daniela de Paulis, radio amateur Jan van Miijlwijk, the CAMRAS radio amateurs association at the Dwingeloo radio telescope in the Netherlands, AWB is proud to present a unique Facebook Live event on our main AWB Facebook page called OPTICKS on April 15, 14:00 UT (10:00 am EDT/7:00 am PDT).
