San Antonio Astronomical Association - Celestron NexYZ
My name is Mike Young. I am a member of the San Antonio Astronomical Association. I am very active with Daneille in our outreach activities. I have the Celestron NexYZ Smartphone Adapter you graciously donated to us. She asked me to evaluate and learn to use it because I have a high level of technical expertise. UA Sigma Sorority Event
Tuscon Amateur Astronomy Association From: Jim Knoll Sent: Friday, September 21, 8:14 AM We used the Astronomers without Borders Celestron NexYZ phone adapter last night at the UA Sigma Sorority event. Great hit. Probably had all 51 ladies take a picture of the Moon. They loved it. Will use it next at Agua Caliente Park Oct 13 & International Observe the Moon Oct 20th. Works great on the Moon. Mars Close Approach - July 30, 2018
Mon, Jul 30 at 10:00pm - Tue, Jul 31 at 2:00am PDT Science & Technology Mars will be closest to Earth in the early morning hours of July 31, 2018. Griffith Observatory's All Space Considered team will bring the close approach live via LiveStream, starting at 10:00 p.m. through the closest approach at 12:45 a.m. and concluding at 2:00 a.m. on July 31. Public Star Party, Los Angeles, CA, USA
The Los Angeles Astronomical Society held their monthly Public Star Party on the lawn of the Griffith Observatory on Saturday, April 16, 2016. From 2 PM to sunset, our members provided solar scopes for the public and demonstrated safety techniques for safe solar observing. After the sun set, our members focused their telescopes and biinoculars on other objects in the night sky. Due to windy conditions, observing the night sky was not at an optimum level but the star party was a success with the large crowd of over 1,500 visitors to the observatory.
