“Hey, you don’t look normal.
Did you fall in love
With a star?”
“I just fell from a comet
To the Moon.
So… something similar!”
-Andrei Dorian Gheorghe-

The Romanian Society for Cultural Astronomy was founded in 2016 in Timisoara (unofficial Capital City of the Banat province in West Romania - former Dacian territory, Roman possession, Bulgarian-Romanian duchy, Magyar possession, Ottoman pashalik, Austrian province, and even a short-lived republic after World War I, always with a Romanian majority of population, divided today between Romania -2/3- and Serbia and Hungary) by Marc Frâncu (professor at the West University), with the support of Andrei Juravle (leader of the Antares Astroclub - Timisoara; here I have to mention that another important local astroclub is “Altair”) and Dan Uza (co-founder of the Borealis Astroclub - Cluj).

This society collects old astronomical traditions, collaborates with the local professional observatory (made in 1962), and organizes an annual international conference and many activities for the popularization of astronomy.

During GAM 2020 they published on-line a few images they took in April, from which my time tunnel chose the Supermoon in the town of Cluj-Napoca (balcony astronomy) and Comet ATLAS over Timisoara (made even by president Marc Frâncu).
