“astronomy.ro” is a national on-line forum for astronomical debates, news and astrophotography, created in 2004 as a more visible alternative to the SARM e-list (founded in 2000 by the famous astrophotographer Alex Conu - who lives today in Norway and won a “NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day” in 2016 for a photo with the Aurora Borealis), which was the “stormy” national astronomical e-list for over ten years.

“astronomy.ro” is a strong national community that doesn’t end at the on-line environment, but also organizes an annual workshop in a mountain place.

In spite of the pandemic restrictions, more members of this community continued to be active, and my time tunnel chose a few images by “advanced astrophotographers”: Venus (by Valentin Stoica), AR 12759 (by Gabriel Corban, winner of Astrobin Image of the Day, Solar Activity Picture of the Day, Amateur Astronomy Photo of the Day, Diamond Cosmopoem 2019, current national laureate for solar & lunar photography, runner-up of Insight Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2019 at Greenwich), Venus in false colors (by Varadi Nagy Pal - a member of the Magyar Astronomical Society of Transylvania, who edits an admirable blog of astrophotography), M101 in Ursa Major (by Mihai Dumitrica) and a proud telescope between a courtyard and the sky (by the vice-president of the Romanian Society for Meteors and Astronomy-SARM, Cristian Danescu, who recently realized a soul project, creating a telescopic installation for an invalid boy and teaching him to make astronomical observations).

To love Ursa Major so that you can
Get over Venus, Sun, stars.
To go to another galaxy (for instance, Pinwheel).
To find out there that your favorite constellation doesn’t exist
Just because your dream was two-dimensional.
Finally, to continue to remain an idealist.
