BUCHAREST’S POST PALACE
Astro-photo-poem (cosmopoem) by Andrei Dorian Gheorghe
The Post Palace in Bucharest
(now Romania’s National Museum of History)
was built in 1894-1900 by
architect Alexandru Savulescu and his team,
and has two identical cupolas
at the upper edges,
which are usually ignored by pedestrians,
too eager to solve material challenges.
I personally noticed that their design includes
the Sun on top
and its beams flowing to the orbit of the Earth,
which is reproduced in four copies
suggesting the four major points
in its motion of revolution.
And perhaps the idea that
the future postmen will expand their missions,
going to human colonies on other planets.
Attention, please! In any season
The postal services are ready to transport
Thoughts, feelings and gifts
To any planetary port!
