ORION
Astro-photo-poem (cosmopoem) by Andrei Dorian Gheorghe
Victor Anestin (1875-1918)
founded the astronomical magazine
“Orion” in 1907,
and every high school in the Romanian Kingdom
became a subscriber to this publication
during the mandate of astronomer Spiru Haret,
the Romanian minister of education at that time;
in its pages, Victor Anestin also published
astronomical poems by the Romanian national poet
Mihai Eminescu
and the astronomer poets
Gabriel Donna and Alexandru Anestin.
In 1991-1993,
Danut Ionescu re-founded “Orion”,
attracting the Romanian elite
of amateur and professional astronomers;
in its pages, he also published
a mini-series of astropoems written by me.
On August 28-29, 2020,
I looked through
the recent (second) collection of Orion
again after a few years.
Finally, I went to my balcony
and I saw how even
stellar Orion came to me,
rising from a close tree.
