I could never fathom
The joy you brought into my night.
Moon, oh moon
You are my earth's only natural satellite.
You are far more than just a celestial body
Your gravitational influence regenerates me.
Whether you are new, on the first or last phase, or full
You knock me right off of my feet, so sweet and wonderful.
Though we are more than a thousand miles away
Standing in the light of your halo makes me sway.
I might be marrying other interests aside from you,
But no one could ever beat my heart uniquely as you do.

Writer’s Note: This poem was written firstly, for the unique feeling of relief, amazement, astonishment (and all the words related to the state of extreme surprise or wonder ) every time I see the moon. Secondly, for the encouragements of Raven Yu (a member of the UP AstroSoc) to gather my thoughts that led to the creation of this craft.
