September 21, the International Day of Peace (Peace Day), is an opportunity for peacemakers around the world to replace world conflict with world friendship. The international organization StarPeace will celebrate this day by organizing mutual public star parties near the borders of neighboring countries.
The goal of StarPeace is to change one’s way of thinking toward the world by seeing ourselves as a part of the whole universe. A human being who knows this will act in a tranquil and modest manner, and peace is the fruit of this perspective.
The most effective way to hold a StarPeace event is to have two or more groups in neighboring countries hold star parties at the same time near their border. Astronomers Without Borders will join hands with StarPeace as a partner organization to celebrate the ‘Peace Day’. We invite AWB friends around the world to join us.
