It's time for the year-end holidays, and Astronomers Without Borders is ready. Shoppers can now make purchases from Astronomers Without Borders' online store to support its worldwide programs and get great prices on great products. These items are donated by companies that support Astronomers Without Borders' mission of connecting people worldwide through astronomy, and supporting outreach and education in astronomy as a gateway to the sciences.
Celestron, the world leader in telescope manufacture, has given the sale a great start with the donation of two popular items. The Celestron 80mm ED refractor features low-dispersion glass optics for sharp, color-free viewing and can be attached to a photo tripod or a Celestron equatorial mount. SkyScout is a portable, personal planetarium that identifies objects in the sky, helps locate objects for viewing, and provides information in special sky tours. Supplies of both are limited in this special holiday sale.
Other manufacturers are preparing donations to the Astronomers Without Bordes store as well, with announcements to come following the US Thanksgiving Day holiday weekend, the traditional start to the holiday shopping season in the US.
