In a podcast titled "Astronomers Without Borders Helps Open the Universe” on December 3, 2012, 365 Days of Astronomy featured the work AWB is doing to bring the night sky’s beauty and wonder to people with disabilities throughout the world. The podcast was timed to appear on the date (December 3rd) designated by the United Nations as the “International Day of People with Disability.” The observance of the Day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
The podcast describes AWB’s program to compile resources for educators and anyone who communicates astronomy with the physical and cognitive disabled public.
