This issue highlights:
- An exhibit February 10-13 at the Qatar National Convention Center, Doha, Qatar.
- A workshop on capturing the natural colors of the night sky, March 1-3 at the Ars Electronica Center, Linz, Austria. Featured speaker: the world-renowned astrophotographer Dr. David Malin.
- The most-viewed photos and videos of 2012, from the TWAN collection (which now totals over 3000 photos and videos in its own galleries plus 1100 photos in the guest gallery).
- TWAN’s 5th Anniversary: a look-back at milestones since its founding by Babak Tafreshi on December 25, 2007.
The World At Night is a program to create and exhibit a collection of stunning landscape astrophotographs and time-lapse videos of the world’s most beautiful and historic sites against a nighttime backdrop of stars, planets and celestial events. TWAN is a bridge between art, humanity, and science—attesting to the wonder of the eternally peaceful sky and the truly unified nature of Earth as a planet rather than an amalgam of human-designated territories.
