The World at Night is designated a Special IYA2009 Project
The World at Night (TWAN) , an Astronomers Without Borders project, has been designated a Special Project of the International Year of Astronomy 2009 (IYA2009). IYA2009 is an unprecedented public outreach and education effort led by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). TWAN’s designation makes it an official part of the global effort. Major exhibitions, a book and a DVD are all planned for 2009. Astronomers Without Borders is an Organizational Node of IYA2009
