GAM: Orange County Astronomers & Mount Wilson Observatory Star Party!

OC Astronomers
29 April 2017
Time: 8:30 PM until 11:30 PM

The Orange County Astronomers and the Mount Wilson Observatory are excited to team up for an evening of stargazing for G.A.M! This event is free and open to the public!

Several volunteer astronomers will be out to show the public wonderful nighttime sky objects like a crescent moon, Jupiter, binary stars, open star clusters and MORE

We will begin out evening around 8:30pm and go to about 11:30pm.

If you come up early, bring a picnic and enjoy nature, grab a bite to eat (we recommend the pie!) at the Cosmic Cafe (closes at 5pm), or check out the local trails surrounding Mount Wilson's incredible telescopes and catch the sun setting over Los Angeles. You can also hang out with the astronomers as we're setting up and see how we put our scopes together, learn how to align and ask those burning questions you have about the universe.

We recommend bringing warm clothing and hats as it will be chilly at the site and if you wish to bring a flashlight, grab a red filter or use your redlight setting.

Parking is free but we ask that you park in the lower lot and walk to the upper parking lot where the telescopes and volunteers will gathered outside the Cosmic cafe.
