International Astronomy Day in Barrington RI (ASSNE)
Astronomical Society of Southern New EnglandTo celebrate International Astronomy Day 2017, the Astronomical Society of Southern New England (ASSNE) will host a public day of observing on the lawn of Barrington, RI's town hall. We will have two events: Solar Observing from 1 pm to 6 pm, followed by night observing from 7-10 pm. In the daytime we'll have telescopes with special filters for solar observing. In the evening, we'll have 15-20 telescopes set up to look at the moon, planets, nebula, galaxies, and other deep sky objects. Adults and kids are welcome! We usually have 300-500 people stop by for this event!
