RSC & Planetarium, Calicut will organize Sky Observation Programme for public viewing of the sky using sophisticated telescopes of the class of 6 to 11 inches made by Carl Zeiss & Celestron from 17th March 2019 on all Sundays starting from 7 pm up to 9:00 pm till end April 2019. Using these instruments, people can observe planets, nebulas, galaxies, cluster of stars and much more. From this year, during this observation session the visitors will also be provided a 15 minutes exposure to the stars, constellations and planets inside the planetarium using the virtual sky, so that they can correlate the same with the real sky outdoor. Further, visitors can clear their doubts in Astronomy & Astrophysics from the planetarium officials present during the observing session. This programme will be subject to clear sky and may be cancelled during cloudy evening. A nominal charge of Rs. 10/- will be charged per head as entry fee for the programme. The visitors will be provided with a star chart for the current month and a colourful pocket astronomy calendar for the year 2019. Visitors should reach planetarium latest by 7:30 pm.
