The Observatoire de Triel is an association founded in 1973 by the French journalist Jean-Paul Trachier. It is open to amateur astronomers and the general public, throughout the year. The members of the association meet every Friday to observe the sky and to talk about astronomy. The association organizes an annual star party every year in early spring, which attracts amateur astronomers and the public from Paris and its greater area.
