Austin Astronomical Society is a charitable educational organization of enthusiasts of all ages who are dedicated to the study and enjoyment of the skies as a hobby. The organization has existed in the Austin area for almost 50 years and has held tax-exempt status as a 501(c)(3) entity since 1995. AAS members come from all walks of life, educational, and professional backgrounds. The Society welcomes members of all skill levels, and its General Assembly meetings are open to members and the general public alike. The Society has a social media presence on Facebook that is open to all to follow news and events of interest.
