The Delmarva Space Sciences Foundation (DSSF) is an astronomy outreach foundation serving the Delmarva Peninsula. DSSF provides astronomy outreach in the form of public and youth specific events and education in conjunction with existing astronomy clubs and as independent events.
DSSF works with organizations, including schools, scouts, parks, and other groups to plan, advertise, and implement public, free astronomy events. The foundation provides expertise and equipment for use as needed in the form of telescopes, computers, tables, organization, informational handouts, and advertising for all of our events.
Past outreach partners include NASA Wallops Flight Facility Visitor Center, Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, Assateague Island National Seashore, Cape Henlopen State Park, Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge, the City of Rehoboth Beach, Lewes Public Library, and The Jefferson School.
The foundation looks toward the future and the possibility of constructing a structure which will house its observatory and meeting room/classroom for public events and research.
The Delmarva Space Sciences Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation which is able to receive tax deductible donations and pursue grants in furtherance of its mission.
