Astronomy Festival 2020 in Kutaisi, Georgia

On August 7, 2020, with the funding of #SRNSFG - Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, organized by the Georgian Astronomy Club, an Astronomy Festival was held at Ramaz Shengelia Football Stadium, Kutaisi, Georgia. Astronomical Festival "Astrofest - 2020" is a public event that includes popular lectures and telescope observations of celestial bodies (Sun, Jupiter, Saturn, constellations). The event is also sponsored by the official partner of #Celestron in Caucasus - #Planetarium. The event has no age restrictions and is completely free! Glorious Day - Gunstar making the news - Long live to Gunstar.

On the 22nd at 18:45 a Big Bólido literally tears the skies of Brazil, especially the State of Goias, almost immediately the phones and chats of all our social networks are overloaded with several testimonies about the sighting of a big ball of fire, was reported to us in several municipalities in Goias, São Paulo and Minas Gerais. Glitter Festival Advance on the Astro adventure.

In the second round of Festival Actions, which was scheduled for an Epic visit where it all started in the city of Crominia, it was postponed (canceled) due to municipal decrees, temporarily preventing tourist visits due to the high number of people infected with the Corona virus. Every 15th of the month, except in April, AWB is organizing a small quiz featuring 10 questions on a selected astronomical subject. On July 15th, 2020, the 5th year with 42th quiz took place, the theme of the day was: "Exo planets". We had 76 participants, each of whom got a free e-book on astronomy. Comet NEOWISE

Friday 10 July 2020, I got to our observation field at 22:30 CET with in mind the info that according to Stellarium, comet NEOWISE could be visible before midnight. The sky is perfect! Jupiter, Saturn are there, and I use my Nexstar 6-inches and spot the moons. I also use my eVscope and take pictures of the deep sky objects. I spot the milky way. This year we will have several activities, including Planetarium Sessions Online, meteor shower transmission, photo and record expeditions, mini documentaries, and 2 face-to-face events. Annular Solar Eclipse of June 21, 2020 at the MMAO Summary

As the Ailangs school is not yet in session, and the boarding students not yet returned to campus due to COVID-19, ambassadors Zacharia, Eliona, Pendaeli, OSEO Board member Thomas Mbise, and just a few local students came together at the Mt. Meru Astronomical Observatory (maintaining relative safe distance) to observe the Annular Solar Eclipse of June 21, 2020. Solar Observation

Our nearest star,the Sun is a huge globe of hot gas.This charged gas moves and generates powerful magnetic field.The sun's magnetic field goes through a cycle of approximately 11 years known as solar cycle.In a solar cycle the sun's activity is measured in terms of change in the number of sunspots on the solar surface.Sunspots are darker regions of strong magnetic fields and lower temperature than the surrounding photospheric temperature.So sunspots look darker against the brighter photospheric background.They have distinct pattern and can be easily seen when the sun's image is projected onto a white surface. Using YouTube to maintain outreach activities during Covid-19

I Normally I would be busy with me Mobile Planetarium, but since March I have had no work at all. To maintain my business presence in the workplace and to help both schools and Home education, I upped the output of my YouTube Channel, 'Auriga Astronomy - Science made Simple'. African Astronomical Society Eclipse Resources

The African Astronomical Society is coordinating a pan-African public campaign for the 21 June solar eclipse in collaboration with outreach experts across the continent. It has made several resources available in Kiswahili, Amharic, and English. All resources are free for download and to be shared widely. Asteroid Day 2020 Kick Star in Goyaz

Starting the work of the international day of Asteroid, the Gunstar team taking advantage of the partial eclipse of the moon, we organized a meeting at the traditional meeting point in Goiânia, Morro do alem. Here in Linz we (Kepler Observatory Linz / Kepler Sternwarte Linz) have the great opportunity to use the technical features of Ars Electronica Center to do several kinds of astronomy outreach activities during Covid19-times. The Ars Electronica Center is a modern museum of future and at time delivering any kind of sciences and arts to the homes. AWB and Ciencia Puerto Rico Spyglasses featured in July Sky & Telescope, pages 74-5

Draco Productions made 100 STEM spyglasses for elementary schools in Puerto Rico. Mike Simmons and Greetchen Diaz coordinated the distribution and spanish language instructions for the 20x30 erect image scopes. Jerry Oltion of Sky and Telescope loved the fact that a good basic scope could be made for under $25, and that the construction could be used as an educational project on optics for school classes and Astronomy and Earth Day activities for whole families.
