Karachi Astronomers Society is a group of hobbyist astronomers and works for the promotion of astronomy and related sciences among the masses. Since its beginning in 2008, the group has organised several public astronomy sessions at educational institutes and public places across Karachi, in which participants are offered a chance to view the stars and planets through the telescopes. The society also routinely organises all night astronomy sessions, Rutjugas, at remote locations in Sindh and Balochistan.
