The Astronomical Society of Southern New England is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting amateur astronomy and citizen science. Our core membership consists of amateur astronomers from in and around southeastern Massachusetts and the Rhode Island area. Our motto is "to educate and inspire." We provide astronomy-related events for our members as well as community astronomy outreach, including monthly public observing nights, monthly lectures on astronomy topics, and educational programs at schools and for other non-profits. For our public programs, our members provide all of their own equipment and time on a volunteer basis.
