Venus - Jupiter Conjunction despite cloudy evenings

Quickly, on the run, I managed to take some photos of the conjunction. Clouds covered the scene shortly after. We followed the two planets since February. Not even once our efforts matched the Sky setup but we are still satisfied. We are also pleased to see so many good pictures being taken all around the world! More pictures you can see on my fb account, Astrobotic Club. Read More...

Venus and Jupiter Conjunction 2015

July 1, 2015 from my location of Perla, Arkansas. I captured a photo of Venus and Jupiter using a tripod and in the aperture mode. I believe I was able to also capture a few of Jupiter's moons. Venus appeared to shine like a star. Shortly after, clouds rolled in and blocked my view. Read More...

Venus and Jupiter Conjunction in Puerto Rico

I was able to photograph both worlds surrounded by mangoes during twilight from my hometown of Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico on June 30, 2015. The pair were just .3 degrees apart and the sky was so clear that they shined through rather nicely. I photographed them near the mangoes to show that this event was a real "Tropical Delight". Amateur Astronomers from China

Unfortunately , we have missed the lunar eclipse on April because of the storm. This time, we'll miss the “Kiss” of Venus and Jupiter according to the cloudy weather forecast. So, Mr. Orion (the president of the Messier Club in Daqing of China) decided that an activity of stars observation would be held on 29 Jun(local time). It was taken place at 19:00-21:00 on Iron Man Square. A great deal of people were attracted to see the Moon, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn through telescopes. Here is the photogragh about the activity. Venus-Jupiter Conjunction from the Philippines

Tonight will be the closest planetary pairing between Jupiter and Venus (0.3 degrees apart) after a very long period. This conjunction of the two planets is believed as one of the likeliest candidates for the 'Star of Bethlehem'. A lot of amateur and professional astronomers throughout the world have been observing these two as they get closer and closer each night. I have planned to document their displacement in the night sky however cloudy skies have been dominant as of late. Uploaded are my images taken as of last night (June 30). Read More...
