langitselatan Global Star Party
For GAM2011 Global Star Party we hold a discussion and star party event in cultural park in Bandung. Unfortunately the weather in april wasn't good at all, so we can only watch the moon for a while and than we have a discussion session for the whole night. Astro Class, SUN day and Astro Games with kindergarten students
Actually we started these activities before GAM started on March, but the second events held in April 9th so we make it as one of GAM events from our group. It was an activity with kindergarten students in our town. The first events we have solar system presentation, telescope introduction and sun observation. exploring the solar system
This post actually to testing how to embed a video on a blog post but, I found an interesting old video taken more than a year ago when I teach kindrgarten students At that time I introduce solar system to them, and at the end of the session I show them a script from celestia. Exploring Solar System and Sun Day at Tunas Unggul
Last week, langitselatan went to Tunas Unggul kindergarten and elementary school to teach astronomy for the students. Because we had 2 different level of students from kindergarten and 2nd grade of elementary school, we decided to have 2 different class and session. Pesta Blogger+, National Blogger Gathering in Indonesia
Pesta blogger (blogger party) is a big vent for blogger in Indonesia. This is a blogger gathering around the country since 2007. At the first Pesta Blogger, the information and communication minister announce October 27th as blogger day in Indonesia. This year, the blogger party opened by Education minister. PSB Singapore School Star Party
Last month, on October 28th, we had a chance to have starparty and astronomy session with PSB Singapore School students for 7 grade level. It was our first time to have a starparty with international school in Indonesia. And it was fun indeed. PSB Singapore school was in their lesson trip from Jakarta to Bandung, and they had outbound activities, and also an astronomy activities at night. InOMN with langitselatan
September 18, 2010, although we were in 2 weeks holiday for Eid Mubarak, langitselatan decide to hold a gathering session for InOMN (International Observe of Moon Night) and this gathering was also meant as "silaturahmi" session. In Indonesia, during Eid Mubarak, we had "silaturhami" custom. This is a custom of family gathering in Indonesia during Eid Mubarak and also during Christmas. Another Sidewalk Session....
What is the purpose of building astronomy awareness ? To whom we should build this awareness. We always said it's for everyone and we also hoped they could enjoy astronomy and the night sky. But do we really share astronomy to all people? I usually did my events with students in a public schools or private schools, or share astronomy with orphan or in a village. A Story of a Sun Before Sunset
Today... when I went back home, the sky was cloudy but I could see the sun behind trees. So I try to catch it with my camera. While I set up my camera on a tripod, my neighbors came around and started to ask me what am I doing? Moon in Saturday Afternoon
