AWB BLM Statement

12-15 April Why do just one SunDay when you can do a whole week?! This year for GAM in addition to our very popular SunDay we will be holding a series of live hangouts from solar observatories across the USA. Tune in live to these hangouts, hosted on Google+ and learn about some of the amazing facilities used to observe the Sun. You can take part in our week of SunDays in many ways. By holding or attending a SunDay party, tuning in to our live hangouts, holding solar observing events throughout the week and sharing your photos and experiences...

April 25, 2015 15:00 UT - April 27, 2015, 03:00 UT Come celebrate science during CosmoQuest 's 36-hour Hangoutathon . During this event, CosmoQuest invites you to race to map the worlds; Mercury, the Moon, Mars (yes, we'll have Mars!), and cold distant Vesta. While you do science, we'll take you on a tour around the world as we follow the terminator to Global Star Party events taking place around the world. The Hangoutathon runs for 36 hours straight so no matter where you are in the world you will be able to tune in and see some exciting astronomy...

2 April 2015, 18:45 UT For their first event for GAM2015, The Virtual  Telescope Project  will be showing a truly amazing occurrence. The eclipse of Ganymede by Callisto, two of the moons of Jupiter. Recently, thanks to favorable geometrical conditions, we are enjoying mutual occultations and eclipses among the Galilean satellites. Some of these events are truly spectacular, as was seen  the last time these conditions arose (2009).

April 27, 2015 19:00 UT During Global Astronomy Month you can reach the Moon from home! Just join The Virtual  Telescope Project  for a remote, online lunar observing session and have fun with plenty of friends from all around the planet. Find your own crater, mount or sea while flying over our ancient satellite, with our live narration. We promise you an unforgettable event.

April 16, 2015 20:30UT   Join this fabulous live online observing event from the Virtual Telescope in Italy, hosted by Dr. Gianluca Masi! Join us as we take a great journey in the sky: we will travel to very distant objects, from the Solar System to the borders of space and time. An online, remote observing event hosted by The Virtual Telescope Project.
