The contest is intended for children, teenagers, and adults, worldwide. There will be three categories:
1. Children grades 1-6
2. Children & Young Adults grades 7-12
3. Open (Adults)
When submitting your poem, please use the submission form (coming soon) and include your name, city and country of origin, email address, mailing address where you can be contacted, and your category.
To be judged in the contest, poems must be in English. If the poem was originally written in another language, the original may be included for reference along with the English version, if the poet so desires.
Poems may be on any astronomy, night sky, or space-related subject.
Poems may be in any style or form. It is preferred that they be less than 30 lines in length.
The contest winners will be chosen by a panel of judges.

Astrophotographers Babak Tafreshi and Wally Pacholka will each be donating prints of their amazing work as prizes this year.
Sky and Telescope will be donating a copy of their book Binocular Highlights.
Bob Eklund is donating his book First Star I see Tonight, a collection of poetry, prose and pictures, that is a unique mix of art and astronomy.
Bob Crelin will be donating two signed copies of his book Faces of the Moon, and AWB will donate a Moon Gazers Wheel to go with each of these books.
'Aurora Swirl' by Babak Tafreshi, enter the AstroPoetry Contest and you could go in the running to win a print of this amazing photograph.
